  • Each online course runs for six weeks.
  • Register anytime to begin the course and work at your own pace. However, you must finish the course within 6 weeks of beginning of the course.
  • Each course is moderated by an ADI Instructor (we're here to help if you get stuck or have questions).
  • Want to talk with other people taking the course? Each course has its own Discussion Board to share ideas.

ADI 101: An Online Introduction to Argument-Driven Inquiry

This course is an introduction to the Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) instructional model.

  • During this course, the participants will:
  • Learn about each stage of the approach and watch videos of teachers leading an actual ADI lab investigation.
  • Have time to reflect on what they learned and what it means for their own classroom practice.
  • See how ADI is aligned with state standards for Science and English-Language Arts and learn about ways to support students during each stage of the approach.


ADI Online: Creating Curriculum Maps that include ADI

Course Price: $85/participant

This course gives teachers, curriculum specialists, and science supervisors an opportunity to revise an existing science curriculum so that it includes ADI lab investigations.

  • During this online course, the participants will:
  • Learn about several challenges associated with many existing science curricula and how ADI can be used as a tool to address these challenges.
  • Learn how ADI can be used to either introduce core ideas or give students an opportunity to apply them.
  • Have an opportunity to create a curriculum map in order to identify where and when specific ADI lab investigations will be implemented over the course of an academic year.
